The "Horsa" military transport glider was produced by a company called "Airspeed" during WW II. The Mk. I model is AS51. The "Horsa" glider produced according to the specifications of 1940 had 25 seats and was exclusively for airborne troops. The first order for 400 aircraft to the company was placed in February 1941, but it was delayed until February 1942 before the full-scale production began. By this time, the demand for orders had increased to 2,345. In fact, most of the fuselage components of the aircraft are made of wood. Airspeed subcontracts them to the furniture manufacturer for production, and the completed segmented components are transferred to the Airspeed company for later assembly of the whole machine. The "Horsa" glider was used in British and US airborne troops from 1942 until the end of WW II. It can also be used to carry jeeps and small artillery. "Hossa" Mk.I has a wingspan of 27 meters and a length of 20 meters, with a carrying weight of 7000 kg. It is usually towed by a 4 engine such as "Short-Stirling" or "Handley Page-Halifax bomber. In large airborne operations when there are not enough bombers, the smaller US "Dakota" C-47 Transport planes are often used to tow these gliders.
