Two series of this light car were produced before WW II. The cars produced from 1935 to 1937 used 1.3-liter engines. The OL38 model produced from 1938 to 1940 uses a 1.5-liter engine. This 1935 model is an all-steel-structured car produced on a large scale in Germany. Compared with the previous revolutionary materials and technology, the weight of the car has been reduced by about 180 kg (400 lb). From 1935 to 1940, a total of 168,000 cars were produced and widely used by the military and civilians.
