M1114 Up-Armored Tactical Vehicle

Plastic kit from BRONCO, for the asembly of an US light vehicle M1114 Up-Armored Tactical Vehicle of modern era, on 1/35 scale. Includes sprues with plastic parts, clear parts, assembly instructions, P.E. parts and decals. 

The M1114 was designed in the early 1980s and was officially produced in 1984 as a light multi-purpose military vehicle to replace the traditional jeep. Its cost is more expensive than other vehicles of the same type but relatively larger and heavier than them; its maneuverability is proven to be excellent and off-road performance agile. However, when the M1114 was first used as a patrol vehicle in Somalia, it was found that its protection capabilities were insufficient, and it was vulnerable to small arms and landmines, causing crew casualties. However, the military of most other countries still very much use this car. In order to provide better protection for the crew, the manufacturer added additional armor assemblies to the car, including steel doors and cockpit, and all windows were changed to bulletproof glass. This explosion-proof design proved to be very practical, making it gradually become the standard equipment after the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and widely used in the vehicles of the US Army, Marines and Air Force units stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
