The A13 Mk.IV type is a British cruise tank with superior off-road speed and performance, and is equipped with the US "Christie" tank suspension system. The first batch of A13 tanks produced in 1940 were sent to the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) on the French front to help defend against German attacks. Unfortunately, the situation took a turn for the worse, causing most of these tanks to be destroyed by their crews. Some A13s fell into the hands of the Germans and were reused. According to the traditional Germans, they named them Panzerkampfwagen 744 (e). The Germans used some of the A13 tanks in Russia, and modified some of their parts, such as tracks and vehicle equipment, to German, which can be shared with Pz IID tanks. Although few documents mention their existence, historical photos confirm that the Germans equipped these A13 tanks with the 1st Battalion of the 100th Armored Regiment of the 18th Armored Division for the attack on Moscow's'Barbarossa' operation.
